East Coast National
Hey all, hope all is well. This year, I will not be able to attend the National unfortunately. I'll see you guys in 2016 though :). Although I will not be attending, I am able to make the trip the East Coast National in White Plains, New York. It is August 15 - 18. I was wondering if anyone else here is attending. Maybe we could meet up and talk cards or something? Or if any board members are selling there? Hope to hear back from you guys!
Best regards, Wazoo |
East Coast National
I will be in Chicago and White Plains a few weeks after.
What do you collect?
I'll be setting up over in White Plains like I have the last few years. I carry about 800 graded T206 cards, along with graded T205's, & some American caramels. Anyone interested in making any orders before 8/15, drop me a PM. Thank you.
Anyone else?
I'll probably head up as well. I would be primarily looking for e92 Nadja, a few e93, w554, and who knows what else.
DJ |
I'll be in WP on Sunday...
Any tips on going to this show? I haven't been in 20 years! I'm sure a lot of stuff has changed, but I am working close to the area and would like to check it out as an early bird Thursday, as well as again to pick up the scraps and Wills auto on Sunday
This will be my first time. I'm going to be wearing my Net54 tshirt. So if any of you see a 16 year old with one on, that's me!
Will be flying in and be there all day Friday. I will be buying.
I'm going to be there Friday as well all day. Can't wait! Hope there are a lot of t206s
I'll be there Saturday to add John Smoltz to my Chipper and Glavine ball.
I might attend Friday. is it a decent show? I'll be looking for T206

Taking my 4 year old son on Thursday evening. Need to drop off some items at PSA, and I am hoping to come away with a card or two as well.
i know SGC is doing on-site grading...is PSA also, or just submissions?
Friday is looking more and more likely for me.
PSA is only doing submissions.
Thanks Shaun...i'll probably submit one or two cards to PSA, then have SGC grade a few others on site.
Show
Im going also..Im looking to get rid of my 1950 B complete set and 1957 T complete set

White Plains
I will be there on Friday . Hope to meet some of you.
Regards John P |
I will be set up for all 4 days. If you can't find me, look for the person with stacks of PSA graded T206 cards in 4 different show cases. Just for your information, I believe SGC will be grading on site.
I expect to be there Saturday or Sunday (maybe both). I will be looking for Crackerjack and pre-war Hall of Famers. I will probably bring a few in the hopes of trading.

im going to try to make it up there on sunday morning as it should only be a few hours away(2 i think) kevin |
Was there yesterday, as usual regretting spending the $5 for parking...show really blows if you are interested in tobacco cards. Bill B is the only person with any inventory who actually sells cards. A couple other dealers had some, but most are the ones they have had for 10 years in their cases.
All the graders are there so that is helpful if that's your goal, also several auction houses displaying their goodies. |

Had a good conversation with Bill, and enjoyed getting to hold and look closely at the Collins-McCarthy find from Mile High. Seeing their offering, as well as that of Memory Lane was probably the highlight of the show for me. As usual though, I was disappointed that I couldn't find anything to buy when I walked in ready to spend, spend, spend. |
Is it hard to buy because there is not a good selection or is it dealers with price points above market?
Well pick up wise, today earned me no new cards.
It was a pleasure to meet all of those who I did. Some great people out there. Thanks once again and I hope to see you all soon :)

Traded a few T206 commons for a T205 Matty that I've wanted for a while. Other than that, not much selection for the T card collector.
On a side note, I went to the PSA table to submit 2 SGC cards for bump/crossover, 2 PSA for review/bump and 1 raw card for grading. I had to fill out 3 different invoices because it was 3 different service levels. OK. A little annoying but no problem. When I asked about combining the return shipping into one order, completely understanding that they would be returned at the estimated turnaround time of the longest service, I was told that they could not do that due to "limited space" at the grading facility. What a joke. |
Wow this made me cranky, I just dropped $60 on a Mike Witt signed ball with the PG inscription, and he is signing for $40... FML
On the seperate shipments
Trust me you are better off that way - just ask Dan McKee
Bought a decent Molly Miller T206 and nothing else. My Sgc submission made me cry (not literally, see upside down thread).
On a high note, I was able to consign several items from my uncle Pete's (Castiglione) collection to Heritage for my aunt: 11 team balls, his 1951 contract, two Pirates uniforms (not his, later era) and his bat. |
I will be at the show on Saturday from 10 to around 1 and will have copies of my Negro League Baseball Collectibles Guide if anyone would like to buy one and save $6 on shipping, cost will be $30. I will be wearing a multi-color tie dye shirt with lots of books in my hands so shouldn't be too hard to spot me.

East Coast National
I did the National 2 weeks ago which was outstanding for dealers and collectors---back to Portland Maine now in the card shop---I had a customer come in today from Conn.---He was at the White Plains show and said very few collecters walking around thur.---Loaded with dealers--needless to say some with high prices---but I thought this show would suffer after the National. Anyway hope it picks up for everyone. Don
