I just bought this off ebay and probable should have posted it earlier. I am going to frame it with a cut Jackie Robinson autograph. I have seen others similar to this and one that was a reproduction on ebay. I would love it if I could get opinions on whether this one is real.

thanks for your help, here is the link:

For me it's too hard to tell from the pictures. I don't like the shiny borders around the piece. Most likely it will be easier to tell in person. And with a 14 day return policy you will have a bit of time to figure it out.....good luck. Neat looking piece....

The shiny may be due to the fact he has it wraped in cellophane when he took the pictures. I spent some time on the net last night and found two auctions where very similar one were sold for over $300.00.

Thanks for your opinion Leon, still would like to see some more.

Are the pages under January whiter than top page.

A 1955 calendar would likely smell like it's from 1955. Musty. I would think that's as good a test as any.

Another test is to to look at the other stuff he is selling. If it looks legitimate, vintage and accurately described, that suggests he generally knows what he's doing.

For what it's worth, I had a vintage 1955 player baseball calendar in that style that was shrink wrapped. I assume that was the way it was originally manufactured, as the paper months at the bottom could easily come off or tear during distribution or even storage. I don't think there's anything errant with the shrink wrap.
