Mantle opinion
 

I'm no expert. A friend is wanting to move this. He bought it from a church member who claims to have gotten it in person. Your thoughts?

I do not think this one is authentic. The baseline looks really off, along with a few other things. It however is different than most of the non authentic ones we see. The ey is very different in the angle.

One of the better fakes I have seen but still fake IMO.

Looking at known authentic Mantle baseballs, the overwhelming majority of the time you'll see a nicely centered signature that fits entirely on the sweet spot.

On this example, note how the signature is not centered and wraps significantly around the side.

I owned couple mantle balls and this one just looks off to me.

This is the "autograph side."

That Mantle is as ugly a forgery as there is.

My thoughts? I think the church member needs to go to confession!
