Need Help With an old Draper & Maynard Glove
3 Attachment(s)
Picked this one up at a flea market about a year back. Glove is in really good shape, leather is supple, inner lining has some wear but I swear you could still have a catch with this one...
My neighbor asked me today if I would be interested in parting with it, so I started researchin it and found a similar glove with an estimated production date of 1910-1912... There are some faint markings on the heal but i can barely make them out... In any case, I was hoping to get some opinions on age and value... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance, Dave |
It is from the 1920's based on the web style. Maybe 40.00-60.00 since the stampings are worn. Mike

1920s tunnell loop web. Not earlier.

Value 150.00 or so.

Based on the fact that the stampings are worn and the lining looks that rough, I don't see it being more than a 75.00 glove on a good day. The market has come way way down on gloves. Mike

I would agree with Mike on this one.... value is definitely under $100, unless there is a desirable HOF Player endorsement that you haven't disclosed.
If it had a "sewn" web in this condition, it would be more desirable/valuable, and probably worth $150 - $200. This type is just a lot more common. Still a nice display piece. I think a $75 price for your neighbor sounds like a win-win. You get a good price + easy sale. He gets a nice display glove with no shipping charge or buyer's premium. ;) |
