1933 Goudey Gehrig--Real or Fake?
2 Attachment(s)
Hi, all. I'm Justin, and I've been reading the boards here a few weeks now, as I have begun to venture into some pre-war cards. I picked up this Gehrig recently, and I know some of the eye tests (Bat extending into the border, button on top of the hat, etc.), but I'm having a hard time distinguishing the dirt and red border because of the condition of the card. I thought I'd post here to see if some more trained eyes can give their two cents.
Attachment 106139 Attachment 106140 If those aren't sharp enough, here is a bucket with a few more detailed photos: http://s796.photobucket.com/user/jburl2004/library/ His bat extends into the border, the button on his hat is present, the color looks right to my untrained eye. What do y'all think: real or fake? |
Looks fine to me, half tone printing seems evident.

Agreed, looks fine to me.
|
It's real
|
Look real to me.
|
Thanks everyone! I felt so as well, but last night I was struck by one of those, "Are you sure?" feelings.
