Some Cards Don't Fit the Set (post 'em if you got 'em)

I was looking at my 1974 set recently and once again ran across the Ron Santo card. This one has always puzzled me. It looks so out of place in its horizontal format with the candid shot of Ron, the sparsely filled bleachers and the bald old man (Durocher?) in the background. First of all, if Topps decided they were going to use this shot of Santo, why'd they make it horizontal? They could have easily crafted it in the standard vertical format. Weird.

It made me think of the 1954 card of the O'Brien Brothers, and how strange that cards was as it didn't fit in with the rest of the set.

Does anyone else have any cards in mind that are aberrations in either subject matter or graphic composition?

I would say this card doesn't fit the set, but I also couldn't imagine this set without this card. It is different from all the other in the set in that

a) it's an action card
b) it's a horizontal
c) it's the only card in the set that is not a color photo, but rather a colorized b&w picture

Going back to prewar and T206, I"ve always thought the Tris Speaker card was an oddball among all the other "with bat" cards. The Speaker card is the only card within the T206 set that has a batting pose with a solid colored background. All the others have multi-colored backgrounds (I may be wrong on this, and, if so, then I will be talking out of my ass. Won't be the first time ;) ).

So, if you collected the subset within T206 of all players holding a bat, the Tris Speaker wouldn't seem to fit into that set artistically.

Howz about the "caricature" card of Paul Richards in the 51 bowman set, (sorry I don't have one to post.(but I'm sure there are one or two on the board)).

I wonder if Richards had a beef of some kind with Bowman and wouldn't let his photo be used.
