My quick opinion on the Mantle is :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

MaysFan 06-25-2013 11:02 AM

Ditto on Mantle....and the Mays is horrible. 15 bids and counting??

Fuddjcal 06-25-2013 11:30 AM

probably the WORST Mantle I have EVER seen...the hits just keep on coming

Plinvestments 06-25-2013 12:41 PM

I have my doubts that PSA gave a quick opinion thumbs up.

I don't, I'm by far no way a Mantle expert, but that one is so slowly drawn and shaky

johnmh71 06-25-2013 05:16 PM

I could draw both of those better. I love how the description includes the old "this is from an estate" story.

Goldin Auctions 06-25-2013 05:45 PM

the board is correct, and I will fill in the small blank
what you have is a 100% fake WMD ball, all 3 signatures forged. 100%, no maybe

No way that piece-of-crap passed Quick Opinion.

shelly 06-25-2013 08:17 PM

I emailed the seller and this is what I got back.

Quick opinion doesn't work that way. They will not disseminate any details
to a third party. In fact technically the fact that I am referring to their
quick opinion is in fact against the terms of the service, I have been
forwarding the results i received to people via email

PSA customer
service does not field inquiries for the person who requested it either.
It's purely and Internet non guaranteed non binding service.

In fact
quick opinion service is provided by a 3rd party known as collectors .com
for which no phone number is available.

Nonetheless they have a lifetime
accuracy for me through 100s of requests for me of right around 95%

toyman55 06-26-2013 12:22 AM

This seller has many autographs of Mickey for sale on his ebay list as well as others. He claims he bought a collection.

CollectiblesNJ 06-26-2013 09:34 AM

Due to the concerns of members of this forum I have pulled this ball from auction.

I invite scrutiny on all of my other 4 mickey Mantle signatures up for auction. Also check out my joe Dimaggio's all also likely genuine via quick opinion services.

Look through me 100+ autograph listings I invite all of you to take a look and give me your opinions. This was a collection purchased for several thousand dollars cash in Middletown NY. My company BP Auction Treasures Corp made the buy from the son. The collection belonged to his father and his grandfather. YES! Estate collections do in fact exist.

Obviously we have a great reputation on ebay and have sold a large amount of raw autographs before without a single one ever coming back as less than authentic. Check our pedigree we have sold raw baseball collections several times without incident. We guarantee all our items and make a primary living on eBay.

I Didn't like the ball in question but only posted cause it was verified via quick check when submitted with my 4 other mantles. I will be submitting this ball myself to PSA and will return to the forums and post the results.

shelly 06-26-2013 10:05 AM

I dont understand one thing. On some of your items you say I will show you results if you email. When I asked to see the results you wrote what I posted. You then said for me to spen my own money to get a quick opinion. If you would be so kind would you please show us where PSA emailed you that in there opinion it was good.

CollectiblesNJ 06-26-2013 10:18 AM

Yeah it says PSA can have your ebay listings or even account terminated for sharing their quick opinion results. I actually removed all references from psa from all the listings that were not already bid trying to fall within compliance.

I mean look, I have been using it as an advertisement point for a little while without knowing it could cause an issue. I only read the full TOS after someone on ebay e-mailed me saying I could get my listing pulled for referring to the Quick Opinion.

I said in my response I would gladly forward you the 4 emails containing the results; the problem in a grander sense that it is just a forwarded email with no way to verify it has not been edited by me if I am unscrupulous as pointed out by the last guy before you that I had sent the emails to.

I think at this point any mention of the quick opinion in listings is a mistake and we will not be using it any further.

CollectiblesNJ 06-26-2013 10:27 AM

In the scope of full disclosure figured I should mention we did not submit 600 autographs to quick opinion.

We have considerable experience with some of the 2nd tier 60s/70s HOFers and their autos and as such we will decide what we think looks good and auction accordingly. This collection contained several hundred fakes as most raw collections do. Mistakes can be made as we are not experts. My only point with coming on the forum is to make sure it is clear

WE DO NOT WILLFULLY LIST FAKES OR SELL FAKES

Only the big names were submitted. Out of 140 listings I think only 6-7 actually offer to show psa results.

These are denoted by the description line

"PSA Quick Opinion available for this item" in the E-bay Item condition. We use a little bit of liberty in the sales copy but if read correctly it indicates clearly that only the BIG names were submitted.
