An Attic Find!!
Umm...someone should go thru a Auction House rather a consignor??
That mantle alone is worth the "diamond in the ruff"
Was there a article written on this find??? Black Swamp Find #2

Funny, I've never run across graded cards in any attic before.

Rich Klein 06-24-2013 08:26 AM

I bet the cards were not graded

but the dealer had the cards graded to make them more sellable

Geez

JollyElm 06-24-2013 02:46 PM

I was obviously being a bit facetious.

The serial numbers appearing to be nearly consecutive supports this thought.

Holy cow...does the term "left nut" and "give" sound about right?

Those are some clean cards...and agreed...that is under priced in reality. Who would use a small time ebay consigner for this?

Brianruns10 06-25-2013 08:54 AM

My initial thought is he must be eager to sell, because for a grouping like that, he'd do much, much better to sell them individually I think. That Mantle would do gangbusters, and I personally would be all over the '52 Mathews.

Wow!!! I live close by to this ebay seller. He's also has some other pretty impressive cards for sale. I know BMW Sportscards is in Madison, WI, but I've never heard of quality*cards.

There is a card store in Verona, WI. I've talked with the owner before and he's told me that he has/had a large number of 52 highs and sales of them over the years have helped to finance his brick and mortar store. I'm wondering if this is the source. Just speculation.
