Ok, be honest, did you spell check or google "tryptophan"? I would have spelled it something like "triptofan"?

Chris...after like 12 yrs of school id better be able to spell words like lactobacillus casei and actinomyces comcomitans...let alone tryptophan!:p

All depends if I'm all in on some cards or not. Goodwin there were a couple cards I wouldn't see again for a long time.

Last Sterling was awesome with the chat room working but with it hacked right now, I'll probably call it a night before the end

hmmmm..... seems like it BUT I thought at 3AM it closes no matter what.

"Bidding will remain open and continue on all items until such time that no bid has been received on any item in the auction for a period of 15 minutes. If the auction is still running at 3:00 AM EST on the morning of June 21, 2013, it may be ended at any time at the sole discretion of Sterling Sports Auctions."

It's almost 7:30 AM the next day & the auction hasn't closed yet. Is this the record for the longest auction running?

Another great auction. Many early bids not run up to the max. Lee definetly runs a great trustworthy auction. As does our esteemed moderator of course.

Just to let everyone know, the auction is now closed. I apologize for the duration to factors, one being that we had bad weather come through the area and had to shut down the computer and went to sleep. When i woke up to my surprise to was still going and shut it down right away.

I have been reading the board and have really played around with the idea of going with the 10 minute rule and leaning towards going that way but want to talk to the consignors and see how they feel.

Sorry it ran so long, but it was not just a couple people quite a few continued bidding which amazes me. But I am going to take a hard look at going to a 10 minute ending rule.

No doubt the bidding went on all night, I got outbid on the only card I was going after at 4:30am. Fair and square. Didn't Goodwin and REA run into the next morning last time or no?

Despite the length of the auction, another great selection Lee, well done!!

I picked up a 1909 Obak and knocked 2 T206's off of my list (Keeler portrait EPDG and Pelty Vert Tolstoi), Very happy morning!

Auction was still going at 7:30 EST this morning. Resnagged a couple that I had gotten beat on. Score one for the east coast for a change!

Nobody's fault but my own but I had one of those "meh" auctions where I was high on a half dozen lots when I went to bed and ended up winning only one low priced common which by the time I pay the bid, buyer's premium, postage and go to the hassle of paying for it, I would have just as soon not won anything...but that happens in auctions sometimes.

I was surprised on two accounts, that it was still running when I checked in this morning at 6:30 and that a preliminary bid I placed on an item that really does not fit into my collection goals but at the price thought it was a great deal held on for the win...its potentially going to turn into my first flip attempt. I say that now, once I have it in hand my opinion could be likely to change.

A couple of years ago, a Mears auction ended the next afternoon.
So this had a ways to go.
And I'm not sure if that was then longest running extended bidding.
I won 14 lots w/ Lee and last checked them at 1:00am....all held up & I got a good night's sleep.

What was a little surprising to me was that one of my lots had only one bid, mine, yet still was showing up as open with the clock still running.

I love these Sterling Auctions, some cards can still be purchased at reasonable prices. Snagged 3 T206 Sov's that I needed.

Got three nice semi-rare backs but if had more dough would have bought 10 other cards at least--prices were that sane.

I was able to win 5 lots this morning after breakfast. (5:45)

As a consignor, I was happy with the results.

I think I won the schulte sovereign 460? Unfortunately it was my absolute highest bid but alas

A+ experience. This was my first auction and I thought it was awesome. Both of my max bids held up through the morning. I was able to pick up two more T206's, including finally adding an EPDG back at what I considered very reasonable prices. Thanks Lee. I will DEFINITELY be back.

Between Sterling and the B/S/T here, Ebay will be losing some business from me for sure.

two new EPDG (Spencer and Willis), plus two others I already had that I hope to turn into one additional one for the set.

Very happy with my consignments and made a nice upgrade on a 206. Lee, first class as usual!
