1975 Indiana Sports Collectors Assn., Convention

Was looking over some old periodicals and thought I would randomly share one.......and I think I recognize a board member or two. The values at the bottom, on the right of the page, are for autographs.. (large pictures on purpose).

I might have been there. The first big show I attended was the Indianapolis show. Can't remember if it was '75 or '76. I do remember sensory overload from all the neat cards and having nearly empty pockets.

Interesting that even back then, Rube Waddell was the most expensive autograph of those stars. Wonder what the chance was that it was real. In his book, Ron Keurajian talked about writing several years ago that there were no known legit Waddell autographs. Keurajian then tracked down Waddell's divorce document in a St. Louis clerk's office. To Keurajian's shock, the document contained a Waddell signature.

Keurajian then wrote that he could find just one other example of all the supposed Waddell autographs sold over the past 50 years that matched the signature on the divorce papers.

A convention program from that era sure does bring back many fond memories. I remember those days well.
