pretty interesting. The Dunn has the yellow off and the Hartsel has the blue off except for that small portion by his left forearm. cool card Johnny |

Yes, the blue darkens the green, and it's rather far off except for that lower bit.
In the PM I sent I mentioned that of the small sample on Ebay that had registration problems they all seemed to have both green sections off by the same ammount. So I'm left thinking that either A) The blue was done in two passes, or was used on the large green area and dark green on the small area. Which seems kinda silly technically. B) The plate was made wrong, with the upper section way out of place. That makes more sense, and could have happened if he transfer used to layout the plate had a fold that went unnoticed by the person doing the layout. (Def. a 4:50 friday or just back from a liquid lunch sort of thing) If the plate is bad, it's possible the writing is a notation about the problem. That would technically make the card a very late stage proof, or very early production with a then rejected plate. I really wish I had enough for this one. It's probably unique or nearly unique. I only know of two other cards I'd put in the same category, both 150 series. One is the tinker with "chicago" under the "cubs" on the jersey, With two found so far. The other I'm keeping quiet about till I can find a nicer one that I can be completely sure of. Steve B |
Steve.....
I really appreciate the info.....you have me very interested:D
|
do u think...
shift green right??? do you think that's the note tation?? card may be short, I will re measure .....maybe sgc missed....
|
re examining....
card is short 1/16" top to bottom......short 1/32" left to right.....odd cut, but may have been hit on paper cutter....
note : a "G" and "B" and 2 "0 0" clearly marked in pencil... Steve, you may have picked up something I missed!!:) card prob would regrade "A"...... this is no ordinary color shift.... |
