Jackie Robinson bat at Garage Sale?

Never heard of the lead pencil deal and grip? What u guys think? Backstory sounds good tho.

I agree...never heard of either the grip or pencil theories?!?! But what a good guy for not taking advantage.

That guy's hand is one I'd like to shake. Instead of taking advantage of the situation, he thrills the heck out of that lady, adding some happiness to her life. Well done!

She's lucky the right guy came along. If her uncle was a Dodger and she knew the bat was older, I'm surprised she was going to sell it for a dollar, whether it was Jackie's or just her Uncle's.

No kidding! And she was wearing a T-shirt with a Peace sign. Great Karma all around.

A positive is that the bat will have provenance now.

If it had been bought at the garage sale, we might never have known it came from a former Dodger who roomed with Jackie.

Great story but it made me throw up a little in my mouth because they made me watch an Olive Gardens commercial first.

I don't think it's real unless they used another bat for the video purpose. But the one shown on the ground looks to be a store model because of a 4 on the knob.

That was my thought. Plus the bat looked to be foil stamped (his whole pencil rubbing trick). A real LS gamer would have had deep brandings.

But look at the tape, that's Jackie's tape style. Has a Robinson gamer even come to auction with tape on it? Plus the tape looks like it was put on a couple years ago.

Certainly not a gamer like the others said.
