Why would you ever pay to have a 1988 Donruss Fernando Valenzuela graded?

And it's a PSA 5.

Someone must have taken him to task for his eBay ID. "Everythingstore, eh?" Well, now that question-asker is surely satisfied.

Maybe they thought it would grade a 6? :)

It's rare! After all, its hard to find a raw one less than a psa 7.

About a year ago I picked up a 2000 Topps Griffey Jr card - PSA graded 9

That Valenzuela card reminds me of something I read a few years back, where a board member of another baseball card forum wanted to own a card of a player in every grade.

So he was buying/collecting cards so that he would have a complete run of the same player, all the same card, slabbed from A to 10 grades.

If I remember correctly it was a common player from an inexpensive set.

All kidding aside, that is a pretty cool image of Fernando bunting. ;) Same intensity in his face as when he was hurling a fastball.

The card is severely undergraded.

Same reason any card is graded. Why grade any card?

Anyways, can someone please fill me in on this photo and why I've seen it on other threads??? Everyone keeps photo shopping what's in his hand but obviously I don't get why this guy. Been away for a month so now I'm out of the loop...
