Hank Aaron's recent autograph
I was looking at his autographs and noticed his recent one looks really shaky.
This is pass by psa. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/HANK-AARON-BR...P7w~~60_57.JPG |

The giant clumsy looking sig is how he signs now. His stuff through Steiner all looks like this.
Are you sure that Mounted Memories ball is legit? A very unusual looking Aaron signature. |
I'm sorry, but there is no way that that MM Hank Aaron is legit.
Yikes! |
I thought mounted memories are legit like steiner. How they let this go?
|
I've heard the same thing about Mounted Memories but I've also seen a lot of fake stuff with MM certificates. I'm guessing that the certs are copied or forged. No way that MM Aaron ball is good.

Here is another from the same seller.

Damn those MM are awful, particularly the last one.
|
I have never seen Aaron sign like those MM sigs, especially not his later in life sigs. Aghhhhh
|
This seller sells lots of MM products. Thanks guy. I will message this user for a refund.

Those MM balls are terrible. Here is an Aaron from a while back, this is definitely legit.
|
Looks like someone is printing ugly MM certificates..
|
They got the hologram stickers too. I have to admit, if its fake, I got fooled.
|
Let us know how the seller responds. :)

Perhaps you should research Aaron signatures (or any signature) before you buy one.
|
Just like Mays on the playing field, Hank should've hung up the ol' Sharpie on the autograph circuit years ago. I realize you have to make a living, but....

That said, it appears these are counterfeit certs and holograms or good items have been swapped out for bad. Regrettably, you need to be cautious even with trusted names. Good luck! :) |

I agreed. The recent Aaron autograph looks....bleh. Need to look for older ones.
|
Does Steiner actually sell any of the newer ones? I would go through great lengths to avoid buying one.

Geez those are worse then Stan Musial ones. Sad
|
Yikes, those MM Aarons are terrible....Even Aaron's earlier autograph is nothing like that. Are there holograms on the ball itself or did the ball just come with the card COA?
|
This is the Aaron I recently added and I actually like it better than most I have seen. Maybe he takes a little extra care with HOF insc?

A COA means nothing. You should do the research on your own, learn the players signature, and then come to a conclusion on your own. The only thing a COA is good for is for resale. |

Honestly I'm in agreement with Scott on this one, and here's what I'm starting to wonder. I'm wondering if some of these companies are having private signings with Aaron and not having someone there when he signs. The reason I say this is that the timeline of the changes to his sig don't seem to make sense. Seems to go from large and shakey (which accounts more for age than being rushed) to medium sized and much neater (as well as letter style changing back and forth somewhat). From a collectors standpoint, this is enough to make me not want anything signed by him that wasn't signed in front of me, or at least something that's more vintage.
I'd be real curious to see peoples in person sig of Aaron and a date of when they were signed to see if we can determine what's up. |
Agreed the Aaron HOF inscribed ball (supposedly Steiner) is quite unusual. Very odd "swirly" appearance and done much more carefully than the large, haphazard Steiner example at the beginning of the thread.
 |
I did more research and I think this one is authentic.
