Little Trivia Thread....

Here's how it might work.
I start by asking a sports trivia question.
First to answer correctly....asks another sports trivia question, and so on.
Let's give it a try.

Q. What Major League pitcher pitched to both The Babe and The Mick?

39special 05-17-2013 12:18 PM

BoBo Newsome?

Cardboard Junkie 05-17-2013 12:44 PM

Yikes! I thought I knew, but now I don't.
Bo Bo wasn't the answer I had in mind.
Apparently there is some controversy about the whole thing.
Take a shot at who I had in mind. (Think 52Topps Hi#):D

HRBAKER 05-17-2013 01:24 PM

I think Al Benton actually gave up a HR to both, maybe.

39special 05-17-2013 02:01 PM

Jeff is correct.I thought I read somewhere that Bobo did,but I was wrong.

Cardboard Junkie 05-17-2013 02:25 PM

Yeah, Benton is who I was thinkin.....well I screwed up the start....carry on gentlemen. Dave.

It is NOT Wilbur Wood. He led in wins twice and losses once, but did not do both in the same year.

The year he was 24 and 20, he finished second on his team in losses, to Stan Bahnsen with 21.

HRBAKER 05-22-2013 11:07 AM

Gotta be Phil Niekro then?

Mikehealer 05-22-2013 04:57 PM

Who is the only(I think only) HOFer to hit 3 HR's in one game off of a HOF pitcher? Who was the pitcher?

sycks22 05-23-2013 07:24 AM

Only hitter to have 50 sbs / 50 doubles in the same year.

well with not even a guess on either of these, ill post the answers:

1 - Though most people think its Robinson, its not, Moses Fleetwood Walker was the first black major league player and his brother was the 2ed.

2 - I would of thought a few guesses, at Ruth, Williams even a bonds, but the answer is eddie gaedel, his Jersey Hangs in the HOF and has an OBP of 1000, going 0/0 with 1 walk.

The answer.........

Red Lucas.

Jlighter 05-26-2013 12:27 PM

Perhaps this will be a bit easier.

Who is the last player to lead the league in both hits and walks in the same year?

Extra credit for the year.
