Ichiro autos
Is Ichiro autographs in low demand nowadays? I been winning signed Ichiro baseballs left and right. Seems like I am the only one bidding. Good thing I am a Ichiro fan. :D
|
Maybe they aren't real. And that is why nobody else is bidding...
|
The balls have jsa certs with it though. I am just guessing Ichiro has a small market here.

He will retire and disappear and make the HOF so if real it is a good investment. His graph has changed oven the years. I see good and bad ones on ebay. I have about 40 signed cards- about half in person from spring training. I got some and my friends got some and then I traded deceased HOFers for them.
What did you pay? Mill Creek used to do signings and you could get one for about $225 |
I been paying around 85-95 for them. I got one Ichiro signed bat at 2002 spring training. His current signature is way different from 2002.

Bat looks good. Hard to say on the ball. The autograph on the ball looks alittle busier than I am used to but not sure as his autograph on a ball may be slightly different than the ones he does on cards.

Just bought a 8x10 PSA/DNA slabbed photo for 100 shipped myself.
For the longest time, he was exclusively signing for Mill Creek, and there weren't many cards that he signed (signed 01 cards were 1k+ and his UD sweet spot cards were minimum 350). I think mill creek has been selling off inventory on Ebay from time to time auction style. Also, he's not the same Ichiro he was 3 years ago. Lastly, he recently is signing for leaf, so he is signing 'more'. His 01 cards are still in demand, but not thousands each. His sweet spot is selling for like 200 now. He was one of the last 'future hof' guys I needed, but it killed me all these years to spend hundreds on a current player. So happy to remove his name from my saved searches. lol I'd stick with something signed from Mill Creek and sports the Ichiro Hologram....its the safest imo |

I think they both look good. From what I've noticed on OML balls, he typically rushes like that to pound thru a few sigs and go. You are right, it does vary between ball and card because of the shape of the surface |
Looks like a sine wave to me. I wonder if it's ever going to get so bad that a pro athlete just signs with a straight line?
|
Do Japanese people sign right to left? forgive me if this is a silly question
|
All the signings of his I got are through spring training so there is a rush to it.

That explains why most of the balls he signs are on the side panel.

Last year I purchased an 8X10 from Mill Creek. I considered a ball but the auto is so difficult to read. I opted for the photo so when viewed it was obvious to all who the signature belonged to. I prefer sweet spot balls but felt that his auto displays so poorly I had no real choice other than the photo.

His recent signatures look like it was done by a 3 year old. His earlier signature is much better.

Seriously, I do agree though.... the older version actually had some flair, whereas the newer version is a much messier/uglier scribble. |
