Ty Cobb rose from the grave to sign this ball
Unless I'm mistaken, this version of the Cronin-Reach ball was not used until the end of Cronin's tenure from 1970-1973.
Cronin was only in office for 2-1/2 years before Cobb's passing which makes any Cobb signature on a Cronin very suspect. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TY-COBB-Auth...item27d29a4d6f |
What is the surprise he worked for Heritage,Psa,Cristy's Antique Road Shows and Spence.

"Ty Cobb rose from the grave to sign this ball"
And why not? Happens all the time. |
Hello,
This thread was brought to my attention so I checked with Mike Gutierrez and I wanted to make it clear that he did not review or authenticate this Ty Cobb baseball. Someone is attempting to pass off forged baseballs by using his name and a counterfeit Letter of Authentication. |

Now the seller is listing the item for someone else apparetly...here's a shocker, his "older neighbors who don't know much about computers or Ebay."
The seller claims he can provide provenance through Ralph Perullo and the Joe Dimaggio Estate. He has no comment on the ripped off and fake LOA he has in the listing. |

So Mike and Donald Frangipani have had their COA's forged. First I have heard of forged Gutierrez COA's. The ball is now removed from ebay so no more worries about COA's or ghouls from the grave. |
But what about the other balls he's selling? They're still up there.

Can you check with Mike to see if he can walk into the Baseball Hall of Fame? Unsubstantiated rumors abound about that and it would be nice if that was clarified also. |

They are going to ban you from Heritage for that post. |

I guess Heritage does not want to answer the last question that I asked, in post 10 in this thread.
I guess that a non answer is really an answer. |
