Derek Jeter recracked the bone in his ankle and will be out at least until after the All Star break. Huge disappointment for the Yankees.

Huge disappointment for baseball in general. That stinks.

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed. You can probably toss out any remote chance he has at the Hit record now.

He's at that age, your body just doesn't bounce back from injuries like that anymore. Wonder if he pushed it too much in rehab, trying to get back.

I played in a MABL league back in 1996 with a guy who played HS ball with Jeter. He swore that there was another guy on their team that was better than Derek, but that the scouts all saw something the kids didn't. Guess the scouts knew what they were talking about.
