Brooklyn Dodger Autographed Ball Help
3 Attachment(s)
Guys,
A friend picked this ball up today & asked me to do some research on it for him... based on what I see it looks to be a ball from early 1948 (has durocher, no Duke or Campy). The signatures look good IMO, but I still consider myself an amateur... What do you guys think of the Robby/Hodges? Also, have you ever seen an Official Dodger Branch Rickey Ball? Opinions on authenticity & value would be greatly appreciated Thanks Again! David |
Bump
Any opinions out there?
Thanks! Dave |
Looks ok from the pics, though I would like a better look at the Robinson.
Never saw that type of ball before,, I would guess it is rare. Pricing is tough, Dodger balls are not rare and that ball is ugly. Maybe $6-700 if near complete team is on it but it is a tough sell. |
Dodgers Ball up on Ebay
My friend Dale informed met that he put the ball up for auction...
I am attaching the link here if anyone is interested... http://www.ebay.com/itm/171039320217...84.m1423.l2649 |
Wow, $1900 with 15 bids already.
|
Yeah, that seems really high to me
|
Price
I agree. The only rationalization I can make Is the scarcity of th ball itself
|
Good thing you didn't sell it to Richard!
|
How much did your friend got it for originally?
|
Price
Not sure what he paid for it, but he did pick it up from an old timer and must have at least $300 into the authentication...
|
yes, does seem high for sure. I have seen the ball in person. it is Really cool, but non shellacked balls don't go that high, do they? There are some "odd sigs" on there who weren't with the team long, maybe that is adding to price?
Overall tho, I agree w those who mention the type of ball as t he main reason. |
