PSA Clubs?
New to all of this now. Is it worth it to join the PSA clubs? I see they have one for $180 and you could get 15 cards graded and some other things like a subscription to a guide. Thank you, Jamie

you should also look into SGC grading company, always good to have a choice.

Thanks.
Can someone explain why it is that I see other grading companies giving a card a 10, and yet it's so much cheaper than a PSA or SGC of the same. And they don't look at all like a 10 to the naked eye? Very confusing. Jamie |
It's like any other thing that people do.
Some bartenders make better drinks than others, some players bat .350 others .250. PSA, SGC and Beckett are generally consistent although they all make mistakes. An they generally hold to fairly high standards although one company may be harder on certain faults than another. Other companies may not be as good. Or might not be as good at holding to a tight standard. Some are outright scams where every card is a 10 and it's likely nobody but the owner has had any cards graded. There are a few new companies that may be ok but don't have an established history. BCCG is a special service by Beckett that's very confusing since they use a scale from 5-10 If the Holder is a screwdown that's popriveted together the grade is probably wrong, usually very wrong. There! now you should be even more confused. Just hang in there, stick with the big 3 and eventually it will make sense. Steve B |
