Helpful things to know about our board....

So we are up to about 97 new members this month which is about average nowadays. That being said I will bet there are tons of members who don't know about a lot of the board features and places. Hopefully this thread will help. (Actually, I am close to 100% sure it will help someone with something)...

1. You can set your number of posts per page to 80. You do it in your user control panel. That way you don't have to scroll through as many pages when reading posts in a thread.

2. We have an Archive Center. Just look at the icon on the far right of the row of them and click on it. There are some of the most informative threads ever posted on the board, right in one neat place.

2b. We have a place for detecting alterations and reprints that has a ton of information in it.

3. There is a place to show lots of your cards and post scans in your own personal albums. It is under the community tab in the pictures and albums area. It's super easy to use and a lot members use it. You can even use it to host scans of things for sale.

4. There is a memorabilia forum, post war multi-sport forums, an autograph forum and an off topic forum called the Water Cooler section.

5. Every one should read the rules at least once. (wishful thinking)

Members can always PM me for instructions or anything pertaining to the board......I am sure others will throw in some more stuff but that is good for now..happy collecting

Leon,

I can't find the setting to make it 80 posts per page. Where is it on the control panel?

Leon, I have set my posts to 80 per page a while back. Is there a setting to change new posts search(for all forums) to 80 as well?

I worded my statement incorrectly. It is 80 posts per THREAD, not page. We have the number of threads per page at 40 and that is not something users can mess with. Does that take care of the question? Sorry for my poor communication on that issue. Many members have never set their threads to 80 posts and the default is 10 posts per thread PER PAGE...which is quite cumbersome.

Once you have the setting for 80 posts per thread it should be for all forums on the board. Are you saying you have different numbers of posts on a single page, in a thread, in different forums? That would seem strange and incorrect.

Also as a member of this forum you can use the 15 items or less line in any store with as many as 25 items with no harassment from management. Just FYI.

Only because management can't count past 15.....

Point taken Leon, also you can use any of the Net54 lounges at airports with no charge…lounges set to launch worldwide 2032.

Sorry, i may have worded my response incorrect as well. When I come on to the Net54 sight(logged in) I click on New Posts. It shows me the most recent 25 posts, then I have to go back a couple of pages. It would be nice if I could have the New Posts set at 80 as well. I like to see what's new on all the forums. Not a necessity or complaint, just wondering if i can change it myself maybe.

I honestly don''t know, Dan. I don't do it that way. I click on threads that have titles which are darker in color, which means they have new posts I haven't read. I have never clicked on what you said. I only know a lot of members have never set their number of posts, within a thread and on a single page, to more than 10 (the default).

I tried that and it worked! You will have to show your patch. I sewed mine to my jacket so its visible at all times.

There's one recent thing I'm still trying to get used to.

I come here from oldcardboard, clicking on the link for net 54. Recently it changed from bringing me to the page listing the sections to bringing me directly to the main prewar section.

For me it's just adjusting to it so I don't hit back and go back out to oldcardboard.
But for someone new, it effectively hides the other sections.
