1932 World Series poster - real or not?
|
Not an expert but I don't like the quality of the image.
|
Yeah, so do several of his other items from this same "picker's estate." Including the 11"x17" Foxx/Ruth photo, which has basically the same write-up, including the "smells like a 50's baseball card" description and "what you see is what you get" tag line.
I wish I knew more about the piece to give a definitive answer, but too many indicators surrounding it make me feel uncomfortable even if I did think the poster was real. |
I've seen that same poster in just about every Zaxby's I've ever been in (and I love Chicken Fingers),
|
I believe it to be fake. I have seen many of this style at flea markets and antique stores and I believe they were produced in the 1980s. I too think I have seen similar ones in Zaxby's, and now your comment is causing me to crave their fries. I wish there were a Zaxby's up north!

I don't know what Zaxby's is but I want it more than that poster.
|
Those are fake. Fantasy piece
|
And apparently according to the seller Lefty Grove was on the Yankees, obviously on loan from the A's. (I'm guessing the seller meant Lefty Gomez).
Regardless, it's obviously a fantasy piece. |
Jeff,
As a man who LOVES chicken fingers, I demand you tell me more of this 'Zaxby's.' Yours in fried deliciousness, Graig |
