Pennant Collectors: 1912 World Series
One of my favorite Conlon images.
This Conlon photo was taken during the 1912 World Series between the Giants and the Red Sox. I found the image on John Rogers' site, but unfortunately, they have cropped out a very interesting part: At the top left of the original Conlon image, there is a guy selling a pennant to a fan - he has at least one for each team. You can find the full image, which shows the pennants, in the Conlon coffee table book (I don't have it scanned). https://www.theconloncollection.com/...w_John_009.jpg |
Haha. Maybe I got the photo wrong?

Yeah, great photo...still McGraw, but this time with his pals Wilbert and Matty.
How much do you think those pennants in that shape would sell for now? |
I don't know, but my mouth watered when I spotted them in the photo. It would be tough to go back in time to that game - you'd be collecting ticket stubs off the ground, buying all the pennants. You'd be so busy collecting memorabilia, you would miss the game.

Those pennants are absolutely awesome. I love the old photos that include super rare memorabilia like this. Thank you very much for posting. Jason
