Net 54 Collectors are invited to see the T206 Wagner in person in NYC

Hello all
please see the link below for a press release on a unique arrangement we have made with ultra high end watch company Audemars Piguet in NYC.
They have very tight security in the store, and will allow showings from 1030am-430pm Monday thru Saturday, from today thru March 28th.
They are located at 65 E 57th st in NYC, next to Four Seasons Hotel. We felt this was a unique opportunity to allow those who live in or around NYC (as well as those who work in the city) who are interested in the card to be able to view it in person. If you are interested in please email ken at ken@goldinauctions.com so he can set up a showing for you.

Is that actually the name carved into a backlit holder for the slab?

If it is that's one really wonderful way to display the card. Looks like the shop totally gets how to make something special seem even better.

Gorgeous card. Great display. I'm a little surprised it wasn't reholdered for the selling, due the scatch on the plastic...when I go to the Louvre I like to see the Mona Lisa in a flawless frame.

Agreed

I agree Paul.

Also, what is the board's consenus if this card was graded by SGC. What do you think the grade would be if they holdered the card?

Tony

yep, slight outline of next card is the reason for the mc qualifier.

card is nice...but any pics of the new AP line-up while you're there?

glynparson 03-24-2013 01:34 AM

Sgc

The current owner could have VERY easily crossed it over had he chosen to do so. Obviously there is a reason he did not, either he feels it is worth more in the psa holder or that its miscut maybe was too severe to grade without a qualifier which SGC does not have. Gorgeous card and probably a good time to sell with the attention t206 print freaks are currently getting. I am surprised the owner would part with one of his Wagners though. Good luck to all.

According to the press release, "Collectors can view the card through March 28, from 10:30-4:30 pm, or contact Goldin Auctions to arrange a private viewing."

Am I correct to infer from the press release that people can come in anytime between 10.30 and 4.30, and contacting Goldin Auctions is only necessary for a viewing at different times, or is it necessary to contact Goldin Auctions for an appointment regardless of the desired time of the visit?

you can go in any time 1030-430pm without contacting us and without setting up an appt. For insurance reasons, if anyone wants to view the card out of the additional case Audemars has set up (a locked case mounted to table) they need to arrange that with us as Ken Goldin needs to be there, which is why that is being done only for pre-approved bidders on the Wagner as it is a 2 hour drive. If you are not a pre approved bidder, and want to see it at a slightly later time (store closes at 6pm) contact us and we can request permission.

That's a really beautiful Wagner. Whoever wins that will be happy!

Last 3 Days at Audemars Piguet for WAGNER: I will be there thursday

Hello All.
I will be there to pick up the T206 Wagner personally this thursday. If you wish to get into the city Thursday and see the card, please email me. I will be there early afternoon/late morning and hope to get out before traffic starts in NYC.
Good luck, and i hope those who attended enjoyed the chance to see the card in person . We felt doing it in NYC would be a great chance for not only those interested in bidding on the card to see it in person, but also for those collectors who will never otherwise get a chance.
