Looking forward to this as well! I just hope there is 0% Hollywood fabrication to make it "intersting" for the mainstream. My wife and I love watching "true story" movies but are often disapointed when we go to learn more and find the fluff added for the general viewers to enjoy.

Much to my wife's chagrin, I haven't been to a movie theater in several years. I'd much rather rent a movie on demand at home.

However, my son who is a sports management major will be home from college for a week starting 04/12, so there is a good chance that we may go to see this one, in the theater.

Jackie was awesome!

So I introduced my 6 year old son to Jackie.

I bought a Jackie Robinson book to read for story at bedtime - he loves it. He also liked the story about Cool Papa Bell being so fast he could turn out the light and be back in bed before the light actually went off.

He now wants a real Jackie Robinson baseball card, hmmm. Even a beater is not cheap. Haha.

Jackie went to UCLA, as did my mother, but she missed him by a few years.

One of the top 3 athletes of all time - along with Jim Thorpe and my personal choice, Bo Jackson.

Can't wait to take my son to the upcoming movie!

There's a really cool story in the American Way Magazine I read on the plane this morning about Harrison Ford and how bad he wanted the role of Branch Rickey but the director didn't want to hire Him for the part (initially). The whole magazine was about baseball and there's even an article about Mr Mint and collecting cards. They have 2 versions of the mag. I grabbed both. Here they are. Attachment 94351

I think it will be good, however, I'll wait for Red Box.

I am pleased they made a movie about him. I liked how Hank Aaron suggested to go see it. So i will. Very happy to see a baseball movie "based" on true story. Hoowever, a very important, and sad time in our country's history, i do fear Hollywood could have too big a hand in it. Non the less, I just hope they include a scene with Jackie in Army uniform refusing to go to the back of a public bus, circa 1946-47, some 7 odd or so years "before" Rosa Parks in 1954.
