1886 Wood & 1888 Hall NYG Cabinets
These seem to be about as rare as it gets.
Here are a couple of composites I built - (For the Woods, I modified contrast, etc.) |
Nice job, Scott, I like it.
|
Agreed, nice job.

The Ward Cabinet looks like the one on BST (currently) that recently sold on Legendary. Why did SGC simply label it as "1880s Cabinet"?? Is that the same image and same cabinet style?
|
I owned the Wood Keefe (middle row of Woods, second from right) at one time, unfortunatley, it had one of the poorest picture qualities of any that Scott has posted.
|
I'm not positive, but I think the Legendary Ward may have been part of a larger composite photo at one time, thus SGC's designation.

Sorry about the dups in the Woods pic - I intended to remove the two dups on the far right, but forgot.
I gathered the Woods scans while considering bidding on the 5-cabinet lot in the recent B&L auction. I was curious about scarcity, but also whether or not there were 'common' images on the same mounts, so that I could restore some of them. Boy, did I get a surprise. Same with the Joseph Halls - I was looking at the Net54 BST Ward and went off in search of the other ones, running into the same results I found with the Woods set. |
Nice to see them together, thanks for sharing. What was the surprise you refer to w.r.t. common images on same mounts?
