Looking for T206 Expertise--Got it, thanks--
I just won this Hal Chase:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-T206-Ha...vip=true&rt=nc Given the grading company, I figured that there was a fair chance it was trimmed, but that as long as it was otherwise excellent I was willing to pay $66.67 for it. It sold for three times the price in an earlier auction, by the way, but apparently the winner didn't pay: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=140920626932 As the seller says no returns, I'd like some expertise/reassurance before I pay for it: Does anyone have experience with PRO grading? Can I take it that the card is authentic? It does look real to me, based on the scan. I'll check it out with a pocket microscope when I get it, but if anyone can reassure me before I pay I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Doug |
my opinion
My opinion is that it is authentic, and absolutely trimmed.

Personally, I would have it holdered authentic by PSA or SGC. It's worth what you paid IMO. |
I agree...authentic but def trimmed! Not bad for the $$$$.

Hi Doug,
Be very careful on future purchases! Ask questions first and then bid; not the reverse. Craig |
It's the tiny border variety.

Done--
Thanks for the input, guys, and I'm happy you confirmed my opinion; I just paid for it.
I plan on cracking it out of the PRO slab and completing another page in my collection [up to Monster # 503 now]. Doug |
PRO graded cards are usually authentic and trimmed. I don't recall ever seeing a reprint in one of their holders, but have seen a whole lot of trimmed cards.
|
The ONLY cards I ever recall seeing in the PRO holders, are usually bright, for the most part crease free, and aesthetically pleasing. However most, if not all, are trimmed.
