Young Joe Jackson? - I don't see it
|
TY COBBS?
You're right...I don't see Shoeless Joe at all in that picture. |
I really don't get all these bad photo i.d.'s, especially by large auction houses
|
Oh my God - I just spit up my coffee laughing! That's got to take the prize for worst photo ID by an auction house of all time!
You know, a fun thread would be to show all the bad and blatantly false photo id's we've uncovered. |
I am not kidding when I say that looks much closer to Joe Jackson the Singer, than Joe Jackson the Ballplayer. In fact, the resemblence is somewhat striking.
Perhaps that's what Clean Sweep meant? |

Further evidence. Perhaps it is an early image of the great Joe Jacksons...

OMG. That has to be Steve's idea of a joke, except he doesn't have much of a sense of humor when it comes to business.

HYSTERICAL.
Never let the facts or common sense get in the way of a good auction description. SHAMELESS, not Shoeless. |
This is deja vu all over again. I'm almost certain this postcard was sold many years ago as a Joe Jackson postcard.
|
We ran into an auction like this previously with CleanSweep. Keep in mind that not everyone has an eye for faces, just like not everyone has an eye for autographs or lithograph authenticity - nothing wrong with someone loving a hobby, but being clueless about the technical details, as long as they are open to criticism.
In this case I would say that Steve needs to take aside whoever is making these decisions, and tell them not to. |
This postcard has a much more believable Joe Jackson lookalike:
|
Definitely not the Shoeless One.... Say it ain't so, Steve!!
