t206 scrap collection ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-T206-To...item4171017334 this is a really nice collection of printer scraps on ebay with alot of hofer's.

ullmandds 02-28-2013 08:36 AM

nice cards! too bad the seller is a douche!

Craig M 02-28-2013 08:37 AM

Hmmm, Reisterstown, Maryland.

That sounds familiar but I don't know where I have seen that!

Craig

Craig M 02-28-2013 09:33 AM

I don't understand why some guys have to resort to name calling!

Is this what the world has come to?

I think it would be best to bite your tongue.

To some, the gentleman has this group of scraps way under-valued. For me, I am thankful he made the listing because much can be learned about the printing process and so forth. What can be gained by just looking at these is PRICELESS!

Craig

freakhappy 02-28-2013 09:42 AM

Craig...I believe Pete's comment was tongue in cheek. The seller is a veteran of the board and has a few popular threads of late.

Mike

ullmandds 02-28-2013 09:44 AM

mike's correct...I'm just joshin' dan!

GasHouseGang 02-28-2013 09:45 AM

I would never bid on those, you have to pay $2.99 shipping!:D

theoverreactor 02-28-2013 11:08 PM

Those are awesome, would love to have those! Is that price about right for the lot?

T205 GB 03-01-2013 12:01 AM

Jantz and I looked at those for nearly an hr at the nationals. Only time I think I drooled over a 206 ever:o

teetwoohsix 03-01-2013 12:09 AM

It would be nice just to own one of those :o

Beautiful lot- amazing !!!!

Sincerely, Clayton

Scrap lot.....

This is what I call as a T206 Scrap/Error collector "Dream Lot"....Where as a large, unique, Almost "one of a kind lot" appears....Almost like the "yetti":D.....Alot of these Scraps are what I have termed "snow flakes" as in even if you own a "duplicate" scrap (which is rare unto itself), they are all unique in their own special way.....No 2 scraps are "truly" alike and usually have some deviation than the next.....

This lot , beleive it or not, is truly "priceless"......It's tough to even put a price on them since they are so unique(Dan not to plug;)), imho the lot is "undervalued" in future terms....

Each one of these cards in current market conditions may bring easy 3-5 K at auction....these cards will only appreciate in the future, easy economic+

supply vs. demand...

I only see the market of these increases exponentially as the T206 GURUS catch on to the Rarity, and mostly important factor, an "X" factor if you will on T206......handle one of these gems and you'll know what i'm saying....

these cards have it all...

all I can say is WOW:eek:

this lot is truly incredible...I put it up as my wallpaper;)....

oh boy....I said too much;)

mrvster 03-01-2013 06:21 AM

also....

Btw...

As Clayton said, even owning one of these Scraps puts a uniqueness into any T206 collectors collection, but they bad part is they are very addicting:)

said to say , they are climbing out of reach:mad:

Even one of these , especially the piedy's, are "showcase" cards in any collection IMHO...:D

teetwoohsix 03-01-2013 12:25 PM

Snowflakes..

Johnny-

I agree with you, and I like the way you compare them to "snowflakes" :D because it's a great comparison.

I think the deeper you get into collecting T206's, you eventually start looking for cards that have something different about them, for example, slight color shifts, miscuts, diamond cuts, missing color pass, etc. After this, you start checking out scraps, blank backs, etc. . and then you begin to realize how unique and rare some of these "snowflakes" really are.

I wish I could afford these cards, as I would be giving you and Chris and Jamie some competition ;):D but for now you guys are safe :D

This is a dream lot for sure (for me it would be). These cards were never supposed to make it out of the ALC's dumpster. But they did. And to be here 100+ years later is a miracle !!!!!

Sincerely, Clayton

"Snowflakes" is really a great descriptive word for these. Really brilliant. Going forward, I plan to use that term routinely in describing my autographed T206s.

For instance, I just received this Bridwell in the mail today. Technically it is a duplicate for me because I already own this T206 pose autographed by Bridwell. But there are plenty of differences between the two -- principally the inclusion of the specific date he signed this one in 1967, not to mention the different ink and different SC series. Hard to consider these guys dupes. Just like snowflakes.....

The one I got today:

The one I got back in 2007:

Hi Scot, before I start calling you names and insulting you :), I would like to say thank you for that interesting info. I have been collecting T206's for a while but I didn't know about this variation. I don't have a Conroy so I can't add anything to your survey. I did look in Lew Lipsett's book and in the Standard Catalog, but neither of these books include this variation. One of my old Standard Catalogs has a separate section for T206 errors, but this variation is not mentioned there either.

I will be watching your survey to see how many of the Conroy's have the stripe and the types of back for the stripes and the no stripes. It seems that this is a legit variation and should be included in the set listing and increase the set size by one card.

Thanks, Rick

I think you meant for this to be put in this thread:

Beautiful cards !!! And I would say any and all signed T206's would definatley qualify as snowflakes (I should've added that in my other post-signed T206's). The ones that are out there right now are the only ones that will be out there ever. Another pipe dream for me :o:D

Thanks for posting those unique beauties !!!!!

Sincerely, Clayton

Nice card !!

I love the shifts; the out of focus images. I know some collectors don't, but these are snowflakes that people on a low budget (like myself) have a chance to pick up on occaision. When I get back to my computer I have a couple I can post.

Sincerely, Clayton

I'm playing the waiting game. 30 years from now I'm hoping unappreciative inheritors will sell these relics to people like me who have outlasted the T206 craze and deep pool of buyers. A man can dream.

slidekellyslide 03-01-2013 05:50 PM

I just made a $400 offer.
