New Topic - E92 Croft's Candy Set

....and why the T206 set is much more attractive.

Sorry Phil, I couldn't resist!!

I think E92s and their subsets are very cool. Probably a lot still to be learned about them also. Still in the raw....

E92 Croft's are a great set. I especially love the tough blues and impossible reds.

it is a very cool set but it is still the same goal for me, the tougher backs

E92

Great cards guys !!

Are the Croft's E92's tougher than the Nadja E92's, or is it the other way around?

Thanks-

Sincerely, Clayton

The non-St. Louis Nadja cards are very tough, the St Louis cards being much more common seem to make the E92 nadja's seem easier than they are. Being a St Louis company (Blanke) it makes one think that the st Louis cards were probably a set by themselves a la the E90-2 Pirates set and maybe should be viewed that way versus part of the E92 set.

I think as time goes on we will learn more about E92 and it's subsets. I agree with Rhett in that it seems the St.Louis Nadja's might be a subset unto themselves. I remember when I, with the help of Jon Can.field, acquired what I believe to be the missing link box providing us with the name of the mfg.....Blanke Wenneker....

And I think I have since sold one of these Red's.....and only have 4 now, I believe. I know I have the horizontal as it resides in an SGC 60 holder. These were all bought from an 81 yr old gentleman, in a clandestine sale, in the parking lot of a Kroger, in Coppell TX, late at night. He was a nice gentleman that said he was a dealer in the 1980s....

Couple fun ones acquired from past B&L auction...one blue back, and one upside-down back:

Amazing to see so many reds in one place - nice stuff, Leon!

Cheers,

Great cards everyone-red backs, blank backs, and even an upsidedown back !!! Awesome.

Leon- that meeting sounds very "deep-cover" :D You scored some great cards in that parking lot ;)

Sincerely, Clayton

Yes, Clayton. It was kind of weird but it's a nice neighborhood and he was a nice guy. As I remember it the night meeting was the second meeting. I believe we had 2 meetings. The other 2 cards I got from him were these 2 Metropolitan Opera House Ruth cards (the bottom two). They are trimmed but hey, I have never seen any others exactly like them (trimming not withstanding)...and to get back on track, a blue Crofts with the back scan larger than the front...
