Negro League Photo- Legit?
 

With the replies on the latest negro league items, I wanted to see if the below photo was real or a reprint? As you can see, the photo was at one time hung up on the corners, which makes me believe it was real, but I'm not for sure.

Aged reprint. I saw that one on ebay. If you look at the closeup, it is very very grainy. Hard to even see the players' faces. This image has been reprinted a bunch and this is not a very good one. Someone soaked it in coffee and put some pinholes in it.

Stay away.

For what it's worth it depicts the 1934 Pittsburgh Crawfords. Satchel Paige, Oscar Charleston and Judy Johnson are a few of the big guys on that team. It's from a larger photo taken in Yankee Stadium.

Thanks for the info. Glad I passed at $70, then at $150, and now at $125. Looks like someone will be paying $125 for it now though.

I'm glad this was posted - it might explain why my '38 Millers photo isn't getting any action. I'm going to take it to a professional for a good scan and see what happens.
