T206 Mathewson PSA 7(MC) on Legendary with paper loss, 2nd Time!
This really, really surprises me. I was very interesed in this card when it last sold on Legendary a year or so ago. The card has a very noticeable white spot near Matty's face, I called and spoke to someone at Legendary and he said that it was indeed paper loss. The eventual high bidder ultimately backed out of the deal, so I'm wondering now, why in the world is it not being disclosed??

"A clean example in Near Mint condition, qualified as noted."
Hmmm... I agree, if that is indeed paper loss on the front, it ought to be noted in the item description. Whoever is going to pay a few thousand bucks for that card deserves to know that in advance. |
It's just dandruff. Head and Shoulders should fix it.

Wow...that is SO shocking that PSA screwed up again...SO SHOCKING?!?! I thought they were the toughest grading co on the face of the earth?
|
The biggest question I have is not the screw up with PSA, but the lack of disclosure with Legendary Auctions.
|
Of course that's the only problem you have...PSA is great, right!

Dave, you are right. If one auction went bad because of this a year ago, why in the world would Legendary not disclose it now? Whoever the new buyer is (with no knowledge about the paper loss), is probably going to back out of the deal like the first buyer, if he's fortunate enough to catch it. If he doesn't, how in the world is this right regarding Legendary? Where are the business ethics in this?? I wish someone could post a scan.

Likely an oversight.

It all goes back to lack of transparency, right?

Yeah right they are going to risk what is left of their reputation for one run of the mill card. As i said likely an oversight.

My O'Leary has a "scar" on his eye where Cobb spiked him in practice... But no paper loss...Hard to tell in the scan.

The SGC card appears to have been rubbed. Paper loss would not allow the ink to remain in some areas. |
