1957-69 Topps Starter Sets
Over the next several days (as time allows), I will be listing starter sets from 1957 thru 1969 Topps. I will use this one thread for everything.
If you are interested in other years, let me know and I'll tell you what I have. Most others lots are going to be in the Ex/Mt to NM range and will include HOFers, checklists, high numbers, etc. I'm only selling these as lots, not breaking them up. Up first is 1957 Topps. Lot of 37 different in Ex to Ex/Mt condition. No creases. Book value is $443. I am asking 35% of book ($155) delivered. 14 - Bob Nieman 16 - Walt Moryn 17 - Billy Gardner 43 - Connie Johnson 52 - Lee Walls 64 - Pete Runnels 65 - Wally Moon 75 - Jimmy Piersall 82 - Elston Howard 89 - Roy Sievers 99 - Bob Keegan 103 - Joe Nuxhall 106 - Ray Moore 126 - Bob Wiesler 129 - Saul Rogovin 142 - Charley Thompson 145 - Al Smith 146 - Don Ferrarese 152 - Jack Harshman 161 - Pittsburgh Pirates Team 162 - Jack Meyer 173 - Roger Craig 176 - Gene Baker 179 - Ernie Oravetz 186 - Jim King 194 - Hal Brown 218 - Ray Jablonski 234 - Dick Cole 235 - Tom Poholsky 239 - Tom Morgan 253 - Gus Zernial 255 - Charlie Silvera 258 - Steve Gromek 310 - Max Surkont DP 330 - Jim Wilson 342 - Gene Mauch 367 - Ed Fitzgerald http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...pscaca015d.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps68b6b3d6.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps3ae87590.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps8956f0cf.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...psb1f04c9b.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...psad52d01d.jpg Card 99 is not pictured. There is nothing wrong with it, but each scan contains six cards and I just didn't feel like scanning 1 single card for the last scan. |

Can you do anything less than 50% on the 61s? 50% of BV seems a little high.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I just know when I am selling at $2 apiece, I can't sell anything from the early 1960s. People always say that is too much. They say they can get them for 25 cents apiece and I tell them I can't go that low. Like I said, I've had my 57s-64s for $2-$3 and have been stuck with them. I am starting to believe that people don't like dealing with me. And that it doesn't have anything to do with my prices. Oh well. Thanks again for your time. Quote:

For
For the record, as a collector i will gladly pay 50%+ on legit NM cards of vintage sets, especially if the seller has them centered like David's. What generally does not sell for that amount is claimed "NM" cards with bad scans, o/c cards, back issues, etc....So yes, while most may not pay half book it's b/c most of those lots on eBay etc are not really NM cards...or there are a bunch of sliders, i.e. lots that have a bunch of cards that are really mid-grade ish
