Anyone else blown away by this unbeliveable music documentry ? A big shout out to Andrew G on this board for turning me onto it. Since I watched it a few times I picked up both the albums and just love the music but the story is hard to believe just amazing. A must see asap for those that haven't !!

Saw it a few weeks ago. Great story, and could Rodriguez have handled all of that with any more class?

I just saw it and it's rather a bizarre story to say the least.
I don't recall if anyone in the movie came up with a convincing reason why his albums bombed in the U.S. My theory is that he was singing protest and social commentary songs and his albums came out in late 1970 and sometime in 1971 and by then I believe everyone was just had enough of that kind of music - especially after the Kent State incident. It would be like issuing a new disco album about a year after disco demolition night. |
Johnny,
Just glad I could share that one with you bro. Amazing story. Glad to see Rodriguez give the D something nice to smile about. If you haven't seen it, be sure to check it out. Best, ag |
