There is one coming (PSA 3) on the Heritage live auction this saturday. And did see one will be in the Goldin's next auction (PSA 4). Hope that helps.

Shoele$$ 02-17-2013 08:28 AM

Thanks for info GP, I'll have to look into that...

Bump ttt......still looking! Somebody has to have one in that grade range they're looking to sell :)

Bored5000 04-02-2013 04:42 AM

Just a heads up that there is a PSA3(MK) and an SGC authentic Shoeless Joe E90-1 coming up at Heritage in the next few weeks.

Glenn, I'm curious why the one recently on ebay wasn't interesting to you? It wasn't a beauty, but it was presentable and you could have gotten it for less than it went for when it was previously sold.

(Asking because I almost bought it)

Shoele$$ 04-02-2013 10:40 AM

Almost bought it as well Scott, even spoke muliple times with the seller, just couldn't live with that extremely heavy crease. I didn't mind the writing on the back of the card and the discoloration/stains because the image and registration were very nice, but that MASSIVE crease couldn't be overlooked, that was the only deal breaker. I don't mind some light creasing here and there at all, but that crease was simply too excessive, obviously a result of somebody litterally folding the card in half.......not for me. Why did you choose not to purchase?

Runscott 04-02-2013 02:04 PM

That makes sense. I backed off because I figured it made more sense to go for a higher grade, and to wait until I could actually afford a higher grade. But I thought the price was good for what you were getting - the crease actually didn't bother me as much as the back.

Yeah I could see how the writing on the back would turn some people away but as long as it's not excessive I'm ok with it depending on the scarcity of the card. Tears, holes, excessive paper loss and MAJOR creasing from being folded usually turn me off immediately as that's just simply card destruction at that point.

Glenn-

Be patient - the perfect one will pop up. I was lucky enough to pick this up from a fellow board member this past December...

Nice card Jon!.........wanna sell?? :D

No but you got a great looking card there my man, I guess I was a day late and a dollar short. Not exactly having the same success you had but I know it's not an easy card to get a hold of so I'll just be patient and hope somebody out there comes knocking one day ;)

Shoele$$ 04-02-2013 11:34 PM

This would be my IDEAL example for this card.....wish I bidding in the auction for this card 4 years ago!

Tough to catch Joe when his hands were steady enough to properly apply his lipstick.

I know right, I've seen maybe one or two examples with CLEAN registered lips, lolz. Most of the time it's the red stache or the bloody nose.
