Most Undervalued E95 Hall of Famer?

My choice here would be Hans Wagner

There are no scarce cards in the set, all seem to be equally available, so there probably aren't any severe price discrepancies (see how quickly I answered this:))

Thanks, Barry, that wasn't quite the intent of this thread though.........

sportscardpete 12-12-2012 03:30 PM

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the Plank is still undervalued. I would think a PSA 2 of that card should bring something a notch below the Cobb in the set, maybe around 800-900 instead of the 500-600 it goes for now.

barrysloate 12-12-2012 03:32 PM

Did I miss some sarcasm?....Ooops:o

Think 206.......

phil- its amazing how much you love T206s...I wished all people felt the same...

sportscardpete 12-12-2012 03:48 PM

Phil I feel used! I actually put some thought into this answer. Oh well :)

Frankie Fritch

Nap Lajoie was one of the best players of his era and can be had affordably in almost all sets across the 1909-1911 time span.

I wish I felt used. Man, it's been a long time :). Wait, what were we talking about?

Vote for Plank

Phil,
It's hard to believe that the E95 Wagner doesn't cost more than it does, but since its the last card in the set that I still need, I'm going to say it needs to be much cheaper until I can get one...then it can rise to the stratosphere all it wants.

My real vote though goes to Eddie Plank. It is simply a gorgeous card, with the same iconic image as his T206 rarity (even better actually) and can be had at the same price as a Andrew Luck autographed rookie card.
That seems criminal to me.

An earlier post mentioned Lajoie, but he's not technically in the set (E95) that you first mentioned, despite many considering the E96 as a second series.
That card is a beauty too, and Nap's mainstream cards are pretty acheivable and somewhat undervalued. I've included scans of my armpit versions:o

8 more bumps

only 8 more bumps and this can pass the most undervalued T206 thread!!

Can I vote more than once :D ??

Bump for price reduction.

E95 Question

I have a question about an E95 card of Ty Cobb. The card has a blank back, not skined but blank. I know there are notebooks that had some of the E95 on them but I never saw a Cobb card on any of them. Anyone know what I have?

bcbgcbrcb 12-14-2012 04:33 AM

Wow, hard to believe that this thread (and the T207 thread which was meant to be even more sarcastic) has received 5X more replies than the threads that I normally start that I am actually interested in.

BTW Brian, I really do like your SGC HOF'ers collection.

There are probably a few different types of Cobbs with blank backs hanging around hobby. I don't remember a notebook type one but there probably is one. Also, there is at least one more that a few members have owned that was cut from some kind of advertising. If I recall correctly that one had something else on the front too. I don't remember seeing a regular E95 with a blank back but it wouldn't surprise me too much to see one.

Phil- I hear ya on the lack of responses on threads. Many of mine get less than a handful too. It's just the way (what) we collect. Many times there is a limited interest. (as in only you or I :))
