The ultimate set you could own?....
Building on my other thread......what would be your ultimate set to build/ own??
Mine: A COMPLETE T206 SCRAP SET......if possible:D (and I think some collectors will do this in the future, kinda like t206 alternative sets, collecting on the fringe like Paul has stated on the board, and Erick S. with the name toppers).... What is yours??? a complete OJ set??( that would be my second ultimate if possible) :D |
Same as Johnny :D
|
Definitely an N172 master set.
|
Chris.........
Your my long lost brother......:) scrap bros for life kid:D
|
N173 master set would be alright!!!
|
T206 master back set. All players with all their backs. I've never even really gone for the basic set....at least not a serious attempt, but have completed others such as the n28 and n162 sets, but there are a lot fewer cards in them. I'm hoping to one day make enough money to try the monster. :)
|
H801-7.Hell at this point I would settle for one affordable Richmond Colt. A full N172 set wouldn't be too bad either!
|
I wouldn't mind a complete T210 set with all 8 series. That would make for one hell of a binder!
. |
I've always been a fan of photo sets/issues, and since I'm already working on it I'll choose T209 photo series.
T210 and N172 are alright choices I guess, haha! |
Complete E121-80 set
|
simple
Complete set of E107's with all variations in NM condition:rolleyes:
|
a complete t204 set with the square border's also
|
Old Judge set with all the poses would be nice, don't even need all the variations, I'm not greedy
|
1988 Topps. :D
Master T206 set (every front/back combination) or N172 master set. |

Although I've always been a T206 nut, I'm going with E107 also.
About which, what ever happened to that web page that had all the 107 images linked off of a checklist? |
T206 522 cards set...i work on it.
|
Larger format
I'd go for the Rose Company Postcard set
|
e107, any condition.
|
Three Sets to the Wind
complete set of Four Base Hits in near mint to mint
Boston Garter 1912 four color cards to go with the 5 cards we have The best George C Miller set extant - to go with the three cards and the wrapper that we have. Looking forward to making 2013 "the Year" Bruce Dorskind America's Toughest Want List bdorskind@dorskindgroup.com |
S81 silk set in uncut sheet form (frame optional, I'm not picky)... ;) :D

Eriic, sure why not:D

My lifelong hobby goal: D381 Fleischmann/ Ferguson
So close, yet so far..... Knocking the Cobb off the want list sure was sweet this year though! Not so much on the wallet though. |
E94 master set :D
|
If money were no object then the master Old Judge set, a Kalamazoo Bats set or an E107 set would be nice. The uncut sheet of S81 silks would be on the list also.
However, to keep this within the realm of possibilities, I would have to say a complete set of 1928 Star Player Candy cards or a complete set of 1923 Curtis Ireland Candy cards. I already have 16 of the Star Player Candy cards and one Curtis Ireland card, so that is at least a start. Also, since these cards are so rare, I doubt that many people are actively looking to collect them as anything other than a type card. So, though it might take a lifetime to complete, these sets are doable in the sense that I wont have to win the lottery to be able to pay for them and I wont have much competition when they come up for sale. Finally, there is always the possibility that a "find" might occur that brings more into the hobby and thus make either set easier to complete. P.S. Sets of all three series of Coupon cards would be something else that would take some time to complete. David |
Can you imagine having the entire Turkey Reds in great condition?
|
Since previous posters would now own every OJ in existence, I'll take a set of N690s :)
|
I like the idea of the E107 set a lot. Good choice to those who picked that one. And after further thought, a nice Kalamazoo Bats set would be nice too.

Since that really isn't going to happen (I seldom play the lottery) then more realistic goals are a C46 set and maybe, one day, 17-18/20 Voskamps. Regards, Richard. |

I would have to agree with you on the T206 Master Set though. Every card, every pose, every variation, and every back. Maybe someday :) For now I'll just concentrate on the basic set. |
Mello mint
Id love to finish the e105 mello mint set.
Danny |

Either E107 or W600 for me...both impossible dreams I think, but it is fun to imagine! Cheers, Blair |
It's been said before, if only I could win that lottery. $ 100 M, that would be over $ 5k/day in interest. Imagine spending $ 5k/day and never even touching the principal !!!!!
Has anyone ever won a large lottery who has been a major card collector or become one after ? I'd buy everything, but it would be fun to try to collect the 6,000+ T206 cards or the 1000's of N172's etc. |
While we're dreaming it would be T214 for me and I would want all the 90 subjects as advertised.
|
TUM301,
Someone says "Niagra Falls" and then gets beat up? :) |

While thinking about this, another set for me would be the nine large Gypsy Queen cards.
David |
The sets...
1. N172
2. E107 3. T210 4. T209 5. T213-1 |
Either the e125 complete set or an e107 complete master set :D
|
ultimate
E107.
all the best, barry |
Like others have said, a master T206 set would be my choice.
