Fan Craze Kid Nichols
 

Is it known that this is not Charles Kid Nichols? It is Art Nichols - same photo used in 1904 Spalding Guide StL NL team composite and also matches Art Nichols in several other team photos.

We believe we did not have that one on our list of many mislabelled players in that set. Thanks very much for bringing it to our attention!

nice catch Mark.....not sure I remember that mismatch before....

There is a thread in the archives from 2002 about this card, with me rambling on about some other player. Most people didn't think it was him, some did, but we never reached a conclusion about who it was, other than it was definitely meant to be him.

It's called Irv Young syndrome, overpay for a card who is not who it's supposed to be.
