Philly show this weekend
I haven't been to a show in forever, but was thinking about going Saturday. How much time would you budget? Do I need to buy an auto ticket beforehand or early to insure getting an auto or do they generally not sell out?
Thanks for any advice. |
Hey Adam,
I'm not sure about the auto tickets, those aren't my thing. But when I go to this show, I like to have the entire day to walk around and look at stuff. It's usually a really nice show (at least I think so) and there is lots of stuff for me when I go. I hope you do get to go and have a great time at your first show in a while. I'd definitely say it is a good one to start with. Best, AndyH |
I'll be there on Friday.

Hope to see all of you both Friday and Saturday.

I'll be there Saturday. Haven't missed this show in years.
Just need to stay away form the casino. It's too tempting. You must go to show first and spend all your money on cards so that you won't have any left to gamble. |
While I have been very critical of Hunt for disallowing some dealers at the show the last couple years, I do have to say it is nice to see the advertising they are doing for the show this time. On the way to and from work today I heard multiple spots on WIP and understand that WIP will be broadcasting live from the show. Hopefully this will create a renewed interest in the show and bring new collectors in, especially considering the Oaks show is no more. See everyone Sat morning!

Philly Show
Wow!
What a show... Impressive showing of quality vintage Memorabilia, and many friendly dealers... picked up and item that I have been after for a while (soon to appear in December Pickups) Had the wonderful opportunity to share a conversation (one that I will never forget) with Walter Johnson's Grandson Hank Thomas... I could listen to that man's stories for hours... I even managed to grab an audio copy of "The glory of their times" which made a typically dull 3 hour ride home very enjoyable. Great show very impressed! |
Thanks, David, glad you enjoyed listening as much as I like to talk! And especially pleased that you got the "Glory" set. I'm guessing your ride home went quick.
