I have only 2 items with him on it. The first is the 1874 Boston Champions woodcut(the reprinted one from 1902, sorry I don't have any pics though)..And this guide page of the 1869 Forest City(Cleveland) Blues from the late 20's or early 30s(borrowed this photo since I don't have a scan of mine)

This photograph came from Deacon White's estate. He is pictured in the front row center,#5, next to Ross Barnes,#6, another player deserving HOF induction.

Also from Deacon's estate...

Great card Kevin. Those proofs are really beautiful, undervalued cards. These are even better since they came from Deacon White's family.

Great thread!

Love the early team picture Gary.

What a great day for Deacon and his accomplishments. The more I studied his career, the more astonished I was that he wasn't in the Hall, many times venting on this forum. He quickly became one of my favorite players and I've collected him pretty hardcore over the last decade. I'd like to contribute to this thread with some of my favorite items. A couple cabinets and his bat while with Detroit (like other items previously shared, the bat came from the Deacon White estate).

Keep the Deacon White items coming. Many of his cards are difficult, but they are out there.

Great items, Joe!

As a HOF collector, it is disconcerting to me that I have not seen a single Old Judge or Scrapps in this thread.

Those 1873 & 1877 Boston team cabinets are beautiful Jay, Bruce, & David. I have the separated at birth N173 and a couple others not yet posted. All these posts and its starting to look like Deacon isn't such a hard score (not that I'm getting my hopes up).

My apologies for nothing being to scale.

cyseymour 12-04-2012 09:24 PM

Holy Mother of God! Look at those n173's!!!

Here new HOFer Deacon White on the 1887 World Series Score Card. Now there are 5 HOFers on this Score Card ( Brouthers, Hanlon, Thompson and White from Detroit and Comiskey from St. Louis.

paul 12-05-2012 11:31 AM

Very nice cards! I don't suppose that Jerry S or David Bryan want to unload one of those Scrapps.
