Last Night's Sterling Auction Winnings

How did everyone do? I wound up with the 20 card T206 lot that included Foley White, Titus, and George Browne - Chicago. Very happy with the results. 17 out of the 20 cards fill holes in my T206 set. Pretty good % considering I'm a little over 20% of the way to finishing the monster!

As alway, kudos to Lee for another great auction!!

Steve

Picked up a little monster food...upgrading the visual appeal of my set...

Clarke with bat and a couple of my worst Southern Leaguers...five cards in all...which means I will be disposing of my offgrades on the BST board soon.

So it was you. Congrats. :) When the Lot went into extended time I was hi bidder. Four hours later, I still was hi bidder only to awaken this morning seeing I'd lost out.

Sorry about that! I just happened to check in at around 11:45PM EST and decided that I couldn't pass it up.

iwantitiwinit 11-30-2012 09:25 AM

Thought pprices were reasonable scooped the t206 Ganzel American Beauty sgc40 for $109 including fees.

jp1216 11-30-2012 09:29 AM

Wasn't looking for one - but just felt like this T213-3 (my first) was too good to pass up. $47 delivered.

I was an underbidder for that Crawford, very nice pickup at a fair price.

Slow night for me as I got knocked out of a lot....largely due to having like no money, but I did pick up this t205.

Piratedogcardshows 11-30-2012 10:18 AM

Nice Red Border Greg.I like that pose as well as the Norfulk on the Jersey.I was able to pick up the Series 2 Loos for an upgrade and the Series 8 Miscut Jordan.I think I see a Partial Double Name on that one and can't wait to get it in hand to check it out.SSA always has something I want it seems.Great job again Lee.

Yeah, I was the under bidder. Very good price. I just had no more money or I would have gone higher. Ugh! Good job....good job....

I won a couple small cards for resale and this one for $27.60 after juice, for my collection. I thought the double left border is cool...

I was the underbidder on Dunn, but I HATE paper loss so I couldn't convince myself to go higher even for the nice miscut front.

6 To Go!

Added this E98 Mack to my collection to finish off my Macks. 6 more to go for the Master Set. Long night and consequently a long, tiring day having stayed up late to make sure I was the highest bidder. The only other Blue Mack I ever saw was a beauty (SGC 40) for sale from Leon about 3 years ago. I should have bought that sucker then, but this one is pretty sweet for a 20 IMHO. Great auction! I just wish I had more $ to bid on other things as well, but I'm REALLY happy to give this to myself as a Christmas Present:D

Mikehealer 11-30-2012 05:46 PM

Nice card Tim. Good luck with the final 6.

Tim Kindler 11-30-2012 05:51 PM

Thanks Mike

Thanks Mike, I'm going to need the luck with the final 6. Love the brightness on this card, but it looks like someone put a spiral notebook on top of it and scratched the holder.:)

That was my card glad it found a good home. Holder came that way from SGC.

AndyG09 11-30-2012 07:26 PM

Congrats Tim! Glad you landed that Mack. Another step closer!

Best,

Andy

Tim Kindler 11-30-2012 07:29 PM

Andy, Thanks. That blue background sure is a beauty. Hope you are inching towards your Monster goal as well.
Glyn, Thanks for offering the Mack up. I have been looking to get that card for a long time.
Best,
Tim

Congrats, Tim! I was an under bidder on that card, but I ended up getting a Mack elsewhere, so I'm good. :)

Picked up my second T210 and first 1914 Cracker jack. Pleased

jimivintage 12-03-2012 09:42 AM

Dang, Lee....that was fast! I got my T205 in the mail today!

tbob 12-03-2012 11:14 AM

I wish I had received an email from Sterling, I have enjoyed bidding and winning cards from them in the past. With all the many auction houses out there I count on the email notification from the houses (and their catalogues) to keep current....

Ditto. I asked Lee about it...I think he is working on a fix.

Sterling Sports Auctions 12-03-2012 08:19 PM

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I have a friend come over on Friday to help me pack and ship all that are paid for on Friday, long day but I would rather have the cards out and be able to move on to the next auction.

As far as the notifications I wish I knew why some people were not getting them other than check your spam filter. I really hate to see when people missed out on the auction.

I am currently going to try to run all my auctions so they end on the last Thursday of the month. If you are not receiving notifications please let me know.

The December auction is scheduled to start on the 13th, if you have any consignments you would like to add for the auction they need to be in by the 11th.

Happy Holidays to all
