They are both good.
But I don't understand your worry. It's obviously an in-person piece--all signed at the same time, with the same pencil. They're either all good, or the whole thing's a forgery. And why anyone would forge those names would be a real mystery. |
Let's just call it typical paranoia....
|
Looks good to me, and I have spent many hours studying Chief Bender's signature.
|
Now I know who outbid me on that item, Glad to know going to a fellow forum member.
|
Ha! Sorry about that...Working on the HOF collection and couldn't beat the great price for the two.....:D
|
Nice pickup to the HOF collection.
I'm at a point now where getting individual items are too expensive. Team sheets and multiple guys on album pages seem to be the best option as you progress........ For instance, I had a SP leg. cut Frick, Razor Sports Icons Warren Giles, a Stinson Paul Waner, and PSA/DNA cut Dizzy Dean. All together prolly $500 individually, but recently won a Cy Young PSA/DNA encapulated album page for $7xx with waner, dean, giles, and frick also on the page! So I sold off the individual guys and basically got a Cy Young PSA/DNA for ~$200 bucks all said and done. |
Very nice...

TazDMB,
Do you have a website? |
No, I really need to set one up just don't know how. By the way, thank you for not overbidding me on Bill McKechnie last night.
|
Ha! No problem.

Hmmm... Do you think that Jimmie Dykes decided to scrunch his name into the corner, in order to leave a big space for someone to add a signature fifty years later?
|
David, I was just responding to a statement you made, not saying that the autographs are fake.
On the other hand, I wouldn't touch a penciled autograph, regardless of how legit it looked. |
I agree one must be careful with team sheets, Scott.
What's wrong with pencil autographs? (It was the writing instrument of choice for kids gathering signatures.) |

Regarding pencil autographs, it doesn't matter to me whether or not children prefer pencils - I want my autographs to be in ink. Again, the disclaimer that I don't disagree that this sheet is legit; however, IF you were going to forge a sheet like this, it would be easier to create a legit-looking forgery using a pencil, as opposed to a fountain pen (assuming we are in pre ballpoint pen era). I would be amazed if anyone disputed this. Here's is a great thread where many (including yourself) discuss the wonders of lead: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...=124499&page=4 |
