A couple more Mantles.

I've had these for maybe 15 years. I think they're legit but welcome opinions. The both come with COAs from Classic Traditions, Sunrise FL. Thanks.

Those are mass-produced forgery styles. Sorry.

Looks like some TTA and STAT autos I have seen that are very fake

r2678 11-15-2012 08:02 PM

Ok, that's good to know. Thanks.

Garbage from Florida. What a surprise:D

I live in Florida.

Certs from Sunrise, FLORIDA almost always signifies a fake and these are no exceptions. It just sucks when people have these for 15 years and think their real only to find otherwise. It's neither fun nor funny

I had these Mantle autographs, like the Lopez balls and the Ruth auto, for years because I was never certain of their authenticity. When I sell something, I'd rather be safe then sorry. I realize that over a period of time bad will sometimes come with good. I try to seperate the two and chalk up the bad autos as the price of doing business. No tears or anguish.

Don't forget Margate, FL. It's so bad down here, I'm almost afraid to buy from myself!

That really is a good attitude to have, imo. I do the same on the card side of the hobby in that, sometimes I make money and sometimes I lose money. More often I do ok but I take the bumps and bruises in stride. happy collecting.....

Deal with reputable dealers that have been around a long time and you will NEVER get hurt, We took the "bumps and bruises" years ago

A wise and experienced collector once told me that the occasional fake is the dues we pay as autograph collectors. Ideally however, we keep the dues as low as possible. :)
