Reprint Beaters....To Bid or not to Bid

http://www.ebay.com/itm/two-T206-OLD...item19d64f02f4

Hopefully someone will snatch these off the market and tuck them away in the attic after they are restored. Who knows what Red Old Mills will be worth in 50-60 years. I suspect that the admitted trimming will dissuade some bidders. Also available from this seller though, is a vintage 1993 Heinz horseradish jar, which could be used for storing these gems, if the new owner decides not to have them graded. With combined shipping on these two items my temptation to place a bid is increasing. Is it against the rules to post horseradish jars in the November pick up thread, if it contains Red Old Mills?

Auction ends in one hour, I need answers now. Believe me, I can't make this up.

I am just trying to envision the artistic process. Imagine the seller, bag of rich, black potting soil at hand, admiring his crease-work and turning to his better half (she'd have to be better, wouldn't she?) and asking, "Hon, do these look a hundred years old to you?".
In order to stay competitive in the cutthroat world of condiment collectables, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do........:D

These will only be dangerous to non collectors (which outnumber us collectors by about a million to one  ) .....I wouldn't be surprised if they pop up again soon...

Or: "Ok Hon, back up the car again, ok go forward, now back up again, ok one more time, but try to peel out a little.....Ok perfect....

They're Back ......

It looks like this motley pair must have had an offspring since the last listing. Obviously the Dougherty gene must be dominant and the Purtell recessive.;)

That's medical jargon for crap begets crap.

These cards must be worth SOMETHING based on artistic manhours alone. It has been 6 days since the last TWO card listing. Either that or we now know the gestation period for faux "century old" cardboard. I wonder if Dougherty bought Purtell dinner first?:D

Reprints

I sent the seller a message about the reprints with info on how to identify reprints. His reply was very gracious and he promptly removed the listings.

Good seller. Thanks for sending the message Rick. Hopefully he will just chunk them. I crossed over some crappy grading company, high grade cards, at the National as I didn't want to pass the buck. Even if I had sold them as trimmed, in their holders, someone down the line could have got ripped off. Better to have bad stuff off the market. (I realize there will be more but still.....)
