Wow!!!!!! Strong price for 1914 CJ Pratt

The 1914 CJ Del Pratt PSA 3 on Ebay ended at right under 16K!!!!! Someone added a really strong card to their collection

The one in Legendary (lot 100) recently went for $14,000 plus a 19.5% buyer's premium bringing the total to $16,730.

The card is not easy to obtain.

Rumor has it the same person won both cards and now will not pay for the card from Legendary with his p/u last night...he is nearing his goal of 1000 1914 CJs.

To quote Artie Johnson's German character from Laugh In:

"Verrry Interesting."

Well, I am just happy that I am nearing my goal of 144 CJ's.

In my opinion, the Pratt that sold last night had better eye appeal than the SGC 30 that Legendary was offering. Sounds like Legendary might have the Pratt for sale again in an upcoming auction. It will be interesting to see what that one sells for, now that the cohort of potential buyers is presumably decreased.

If that rumor is correct, that is a pretty lousy deal for the everyone else involved. I would speculate the under-bidder for both cards is probably the same person.

But that auction ended almost two months ago, why would it take the buyer that long to pay for it.

Maybe he knew another one was coming...it got him a nicer card for 1k less and banned from Legendary Auctions. Pretty crappy thing to do. I feel bad for the consignor of the Legendary lot as 1 dog is out of the fight now and he was largely responsible for bidding it up. Doubt it'll go for that kinda cheese when it relisted.

I'll come right out and say....it wasn't me. Although I did pick up a sweet 1994 Topps Gold Todd Pratt for $0.29. Did I do okay?? :)

I don't have the money to afford a 1914 CJ Pratt, nor will I ever if thats your implication. I did win a sgc30 1915 CJ Barry last night for $45.01 though...paid immediately and very happy about the p/u. Also, I have also paid Legendary immediately on the only lot Ive won, its a good question why they didnt push the payment issue more as their rules state 14 days post invoice.
