Did SGC miss the paper loss?

Was curious - Does anyone think the back of this card has (very minor) paper loss? Maybe just an ink error? Still very nice...

ullmandds 10-19-2012 06:56 AM

wow...beautiful card?!?! could be? or maybe paper added as card looks as if it may have been in an album due to it's high grade?

To me, from the scan, it's paper loss. That being said I would still grade that a 4 all day long. It is a a beautiful card. The seller is a very, very nice person (hi Kevin) and someone I have on my short list of folks I keep in touch with. You almost got me to devising a way to upgrade from mine....

Pete I didn't even think that it could be paper attached, that would make sense - I rarely see this card ever, let alone a 4...

Wow Pete..you are right. They look like similar spots of loss but on my example it's not there?

ullmandds 10-19-2012 07:13 AM

mine doesn't have it either...looks like you'll need another "type" for the collection Leon...in order to be complete!:)

Pete... you may be onto something.. what do you think of this too?

ullmandds 10-19-2012 07:17 AM

looks pretty similar to me...broken plate later in the print run...or maybe schmutz on the plate?!

Very possibly what you are saying. As far as it being a different type for me.....yikes, is all I can say :).

Is this a pretty scarce set?

ullmandds 10-19-2012 07:28 AM

scarce? uhhhhhh...YES!!!!!! until a few years ago when 2 almost sets hit the market...they were impossible to find?!
since then...they're seemingly always around on ebay!

A large number of T208's have the broken serif H.

Scarce doesn't even begin to describe this set.
