List of (Fairly) Scarce t206 Commons?
I realize this is old hat but I have a friend who is starting in on t206s, knows about SLers and rare back etc. but confused by regular old commons that are more scarce than others, in Piedmont/Sweet Cap (this will be his wheelhouse). I've helped him with names like Gandil and Tenneey but is there a list here or elsewhere where the relative scarcity of those cards are ranked? Sorry for bringing up old topic.

An earlier edition of Scot Reader's "Inside T206" had a list of the tough cards - see this thread for the reference:
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=130515 Scot is a member here. Maybe he could help out if you contact him? Cheers, Blair |

Titus is a manufactured scarcity, but a scarcity nonetheless.
There's always a last card...I am pretty sure my last one was Bridwell no cap, but it isn't particularly scarce. |
If you are talking high grade (higher than a 6), i would have to say john titus and rube manning (pitching). Al Burch (batting), Hooks Wiltse (portrait w/cap), and Heinie Zimmerman are also very tough....

The most underrated tough T206 common I feel is Hans Lobert. You hardly ever see the card ever listed for sale or auctioned.

Always seems to be a premium on Powers. Why? Just an unusually nice card?
I had the same impression someone else mentioned on Puttman--since always a premium I thought he was SL. |
Also, Beaumont is a well liked card by many collectors, usually causing it to sell higher.
