O/T Cardinals vs. Nationals Game

Hope everyone is watching this game because it is getting pretty intense. I'm a Yankee's fan, but I love good baseball.

Blew 6-0 lead, wow

I was rooting for the Nationals...oh well. I give it to the Cardinals, they never gave up. The Cardinals and Giants are both scrappy and it should be a good series. However I do find the Giants a pretty boring team to watch.

Hopefully the American League will sweep whoever they play :D

Sure hope so as well. The postseason has been amazing so far.

At least Strasburg will be fresh for next year:D A repeat of the 1968 Series Cardinals vs Tigers would be fun...but not as fun as a Pirates Indians match up;)

Would much rather see a repeat of the 2004 Cardinals vs Tigers WS, :)

Cardinals have to be the luckiest team around. Down to their last strike and a checked swing that should have been called a strike. Think I could barf! Guess its time to root for the Giants. How about a repeat of the Yankees vs Giants like in the twenties.

I'd like a repeat of the 1964 World Series with the same result. That year's fillie manager, gene mauch, wore uniform number 4, which is 4 points higher than his IQ. Mauch pitched his two aces, chris short and jim bunning, on short rest over the last two weeks of the season and blew a 6 1/2 game lead. I got to meet short at a card show and he said that many members of the '64 fillies hold mauch responsible for the colapse. He said that both he and bunning, by the end of the season, were complaining that their arms were ready to fall off and the fillies would have not won a post season game (also, with the right combination of events on the last day of the season, there would have been a three way tie for first place involving the Cardinals, Reds and fillies).

Luv ya, Ken Mac, but this Card's win should've happened two days ago, if not for our stupid management of the bullpen by our rookie manager in game #1. Cardinals underperformed all year, and they may still fail in the end... but not today. :)

I was at the game Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Still stunned. I have 15 videos on my phone of what could have been the 'last pitch' for the Nats.

In a twisted bit of irony, I coached my son's team earlier today. Our Cardinals beat their Nationals 16-5.

Shutting down pitchers???????

Do you think Nolan Ryan would have missed the 69 NCLS & Series?

He won Game 3 of the NLCS --- so arguably the Mets wouldn't have been in the Series without him.

Last night was just like the 7th game of the 1925 World Series when Washington had a lead late in the game, only to lose the game by the same 9 - 7 score. I'm still totally bummed out today, and it doesn't help any that my UVA Cavaliers are getting beat right now by the UMD Terps!

Haha. Yeah, that strategy worked so well for them that they should do it every year. They are so great that maybe next year they can rest Harper also.

Yeah, that'd be the one.
2004 was painful.
