Help With Elvis Presley Auto (Ghost Signers)

1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone give any insight into Elvis Presley autographs and the various ghost signers that might have signed for him? I've heard his dad Vernon signed a lot for him as well as members of the "Memphis Mafia".

I kind of doubt Elvis signed this USPS return receipt, but would anyone care to prove me wrong :).

I would imagine he got mail in huge USPS bags and one of his staff signed these USPS return receipts in bulk. The funny thing is the letter wasn't even addressed to Elvis but rather to Charlie Hodge.

The story behind the piece is that the woman (lived in California) supposedly knew Charlie Hodge and asked him to have Elvis sign the return receipt. Doesn't make any sense at all to me.

This item is being consigned to me for sale, but they don't want to pay for PSA/DNA and I don't think it will pass so I'm not willing to put forth the fee either.

Appreciate any opinions but what I'd really be grateful for is if anyone can pin down who might have signed it if not Elvis himself.

Not an authentic Elvis Presley signature. I have had a few, but that one isn't real.

Correct, that one is not even close.

Thank you Richard and Dave for the opinions. As I said, I didn't think it was Elvis either. It would still be nice to find out if maybe Charlie Hodge signed it. The return receipt itself is 100% genuine as is the postmark.

I purposefully left out the postmark so as not to influence because of the date.

Elvis died the following day.

Nope thats not Elvis....for the record after over 3 decades buying and selling autographs there are some that I ALWAYS avoid unless I am 100% absolutely certain they were signed IN-PERSON and they are ELVIS, THE BEATLES (except for maybe Ringo) , HUMPREY BOGART, SONNY LISTON (I know the difference between his and his wife's signature and have written a couple signature studies on Sonny but his real autograph is just too easy to replicate), MUHAMMAD ALI, WALT DISNEY, JFK, LBJ, and there are probably a couple others but there are people who specialize in just those names and sometimes even they get it wrong. Best to just walk away from the above unless the source is rock solid

Even if Elvis didn't sign it, if that's a legitimate Elvis item that's an awesome piece.
