Looks like the final tuneup before the 1939 Guide was started. I've always found it interesting how the numbering and classifications changed over time.

It's 1938...it's still the Depression. And yet there's a booming market for trading cards of all kinds. Who is spending money on them back then? Another interesting point is the section on banners. The author is probably referring to Allen & Ginter posters, among others. Those are the blank backed N28 and N29 we see from time to time, cut down and used as fillers until the regular issue cards are found. |
Great read and nice observation.Interesting to know cards were hot in that era.
